     Our repair department is set up to repair most common brands of CB radios. We repair all that we sell as well as North Star, Cherokee, Maxon, Realistic, and Super Star just to name a few. If the unit you wish to have serviced is not listed, just drop us a line through our Contact Us page and we will let you know what we can do for you. We carry a large stock of repair parts on hand to expedite the repair process. All repairs include a cleaning of all controls and a complete frequency alignment. We have a listing of our Repair Rates below. We provide our customers with a FREE estimate upon request.

These are actual photos of radios that we receive for service. This is our competitions version of a "quality" upgrade.

     We at Erie CB have spent the past 17yrs developing 2 standard upgrade procedures for most radios. These upgrades will enhance all aspects of your units performance ( transmitter, receiver, modulation, noise filters, power supply and frequency stability). So your radio works cleaner, further, and more efficiently.

This is how your radio will look when Erie CB is done with it.

*Note: This radio was a restoration of existing add-ons Erie CB currently does not offer Channel Kits that enable the CB to operate outside the designated CB band.

     Basic Upgrade
          In this upgrade we change approximately 5-10 parts. We go through the audio chain, power supply and a few parts in the receiver. We do a complete align of the receiver, transmitter and synthesizer to provide a moderate increase in performance.

     Deluxe Upgrade

          In this upgrade we change approximately 25-35 parts (Depending on Radio). We go through EVERY section in the radio to make the entire radio perform to the best of its abilities. Increases vary from radio to radio but typical receiver sensitivity is around .1 mV. Average noise filtration is around 100 mV (Both binary and gosling). The modulation will exceed 100% and the PEP output will generally increase by 30 - 50% min*. The transmitter carrier wattage may exceed legal limits. In addition to the extensive upgrading we perform what we call preventative maintenance. This consists of the replacement and upgrade of common failure components and the re-soldering of common problem areas on the PCB.

*  This increase in power is typical of a new or previously unmodified radio.

Did You Know?

        Even though the legal power limit for the CB band is a 4 watt Dead Key, the average output of a brand new radio "Out of the Box" can be as low as 2.5watt!

        The average forward power (Swing) of a brand new "Out of the Box" AM CB is between 15 - 20 watts PEP.

        The next time some one tells you they "Peaked" your radio up to 20 watts, remember, it already did that from the factory!

**NOTE** Upgrades are not available for Hand Held CB radios and other low feature units.

     Upgrades can be done in conjunction with a repair, with the purchase of a new radio, or by itself. We can perform the upgrade on a unit that you currently own or on a NEW unit purchased from Erie CB.
     All Units being sent to Erie CB for repair or upgrade Must be sent with a R.A.#. The R.A.# can be obtained through the Contact Us page.
     Erie CB warranties all repairs and upgrades for a period of 1 year. This is a complete warranty of the radio excluding lights and controls.
